Mortgage statistics released in May 2018 by the respected analysts, The Instituto Nacional de Estadisticas, INE, show that the average mortgage rate in Spain decreased by 4.3% compared to a year ago in May 2017.
The growth in demand for property financing is also strong. Spain saw a 7.3% increase in the number of mortgages issued compared to the same period last year.

Earlier this year, we reported that The International Monetary Fund has raised Spain’s 2018 economic growth forecast to 2.08%, the strongest of any country in the Eurozone.
