Despite the town being fairly small compared to the surrounding areas of Alicante and Murcia, there are plenty of festivities to take part in when staying in your Costa Blanca property. The annual festival in honour of the Blessed Virgin tends to run during late September till early October – so you’ll still have the chance to participate this year! This festival brings local communities together to worship the ‘Lady of the Pillar’ with offerings and parades in which the locals express their passion and excitement. To conclude the ceremony, a float parade is held, in which the different clubs and associations of the town wear costumes and celebrate late into the night.
Several religious festivals take place over Easter, showcasing processions as well as the magnificent religious statues from different sculptors of the 20th century. The main processions are the “Holy Burial” and “The Silence” where lots of locals and tourists participate actively to observe the procession.
Relax on the stunning beaches
